This was a lovely weekend with a great group of people! I highly recommend joining this group! Judging, presenting a cloud workshop, gallery floor talk – commenting on each work in the exhibition, after dinner speaker (move over Billy Connolly – Janet de Wagt is here) and en plein air day workshop. This painting was used as a focal point in my after dinner speech as an example of what you can do with pastels working on different surfaces.
A series of small gouache paintings highlighting the fact that I am travelling the highways of the South repeatedly. I hope to have completed a small painting a day for a year! The exhibition opens on 8 November at Gallery De Novo, Dunedin, New Zealand.
My first painting of a series back at Wanaka for the first time in 4 years – because I have been everywhere else….. If you are interested in paintings of this area please email me or contact Gallery de Novo.
All those paintings I haven’t done, people I haven’t seen, meetings I didn’t go to – this is the reason!!
I’m away out of New Zealand at the moment, exploring and painting Ireland, England, The Netherlands and Germany. I’m planning an exhibition at de Novo Gallery on my return.
